Membership

According to Article III of the Constitution and Sections 101 and 102 of the By-Laws, Membership is open to any certified children's librarian or trainee working in a public library in Suffolk County, upon payment of the prescribed dues of $50.00 per year. It is also open to the Youth Services Coordinator of the Suffolk Cooperative Library System. Other professional librarians who participate regularly with young people and have expressed interest in and commitment to public library service to children and the field of children's librarianship may become members at the discretion of the Executive Board. Membership may be extended to library students upon the approval of the Executive Board, as per Article IX of the Constitution.

Three General Membership meetings are usually scheduled each year. These include a joint meeting with the Suffolk Cooperative Library System each fall and an Annual Dinner meeting each spring. Joint meetings with the Young Adult Division of the Suffolk Cooperative Library Association and with the Children's Division of the Nassau County Library Association are held annually.
