    Amy Wahl Scholarship for Professional Development

    Apply now for the Amy Wahl Scholarship for Professional Development! The Amy Wahl Scholarship for Professional Development will be given to a librarian who is pursuing academic or career-related coursework that will enhance and contribute to their library duties, as well as benefit libraries. The applicant must be employed by a Suffolk County library and exhibit an interest in the field of children's librarianship in a public library.

    Stump the Librarian Winner April 2021

    Congratulations to our Stump the Librarian winner for the April 2021 Trumpet: Michelle Vitale of the Amityville Public Library! The answer to our Stumper is: Many of Salina Yoon's books have flaps, tabs, die-cuts, and wheels. Some are bumpy, spinny, sparkly and even pop-up. Some are soft and squishy, some are shaped and shiny and some are simply square. All of these features incorporate play and are unique and interactive for children. Thank you to everyone that participated!

    Our 2021 Affordable Virtual Activities and Take Home Kits packet is now on our website. Similar to last year, we have created an updated version of our Affordable Things to Do on Long Island packet, which includes virtual and curbside activities for the whole family.
