The CLASC, Inc. elections for the 2023-2025 term will take place in March 2023 and the results will be announced at the April Annual Membership Meeting. Now is an exciting time to be involved in the professional development of Youth Services librarians! We welcome anyone looking to get involved and help shape the future of children’s services in public libraries in Suffolk County. In order to be a nominee, one must currently be a member of the organization in good standing and be able to attend monthly board meetings. Board members may not serve more than 2 consecutive terms in the same elected position. You may nominate yourself or a colleague; however, you may not nominate someone else without his or her consent. All positions fulfill the “elected office” section of the Librarian III and above Civil Service exams.
We've attached a description of each open position and a nomination form to this email. Please return the form below to Erin Kanelos: ekanelos@smithlib.org or to the Smithtown Library’s Kings Park Building (SMTK) by March 2, 2023.We thought you might be interested in attending a Zoom presentation hosted by The Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators on Saturday, March, 4, 2023 from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM.
