Civil Service Upper Level Exam Program CANCELLED

Civil Service Upper Level Exam Program CANCELLED for tonight, February 1 at Sachem Public Library.

New York State Civil Service in Albany announced today that Civil Service employees are expressly forbidden to go over how to fill out any training and experience format test. As of today, February 1, no questions about a training and experience test can be answered by any officer other than New York State Civil Service in Albany.

Suffolk County Civil Service, CLASC and SCLA only learned of this decision an hour ago. With tonight's presenter barred from answering any questions other than the "Frequently Asked Questions" on the Civil Service website, CLASC and SCLA have reluctantly chosen to cancel tonight's program. We are disappointed and appreciate your understanding. Please pass this information along to any friend or coworker you know was planning on attending tonight's program.

Save the Date: January 2018 New Book Seminar

Please join us for a group discussion of titles chosen by Suffolk County librarians as contenders for the 2018 Geisel Medal. Holiday House Publishers Executive Editor Grace Maccarone will join the meeting via Skype to discuss the design of their I Like to Read series and the elements of a quality early reader. No individual flashtalks of new titles in this seminar. Before/after the meeting, we'll tour Commack's newly renovated building.
