Introducing our New Book Seminar!

The New Book Seminar has been revamped to meet NYS criteria for professional development hours.  Every New Book Seminar will now include instructional content to assist librarians with program planning, collection development and reader advisory.  The September meeting will discuss how to plan and lead a successful book discussion for professionals.

Skye with Author Bill Harley at the Sachem Public Library!

Sachem's Children's Department has a program that is open to children in grades 4 and 5 throughout Suffolk County.  Author (and two-time Grammy winner) Bill Harley is participating in Skype chat at Sachem Public Library during school vacation week, on Wednesday, February 18 from 11am to noon. 


Registered children need to come to Sachem to pick up a free hardcover copy of the book that will be a part of, but not all of, the discussion: Charlie Bumpers vs. The Really Nice Gnome.

Barbara Flescher Scholarship
