Amy Wahl Scholarship for Professional Development
We establish this scholarship in honor of Amy Wahl and recognize her significant contributions to both the community of Hampton Library, to CLASC, Inc., and to the field of children's librarianship. Amy Wahl was a wonderful youth services librarian. She spent years serving the community of Hampton Library in both the Children's and Teen departments. Amy also was a dedicated CLASC, Inc. member and served for years on our literature committee. The presentation will be made by the Children’s Librarians Association of Suffolk County, Inc. (CLASC, Inc.) in the amount of $500.00.
The Amy Wahl Scholarship for Professional Development will be made to a librarian who is pursuing academic or career-related coursework that will enhance and contribute to their library duties, as well as benefit libraries. The applicant must be a resident of Suffolk County and exhibit an interest in the field of children’s librarianship in a public library. The applicant must be a member of CLASC, Inc. in good standing. Former recipients of this award may not apply again. In the event that no applicants satisfy the selection criteria in a given year, no scholarship will be awarded, with the option to grant additional scholarships the following year.
